AngE™ ABI+

AngE™ ABI+

AngE™ ABI+ combines arterial and venous assessments in a single device as a comprehensive, fast, and standardized vascular screening system. Its ability to perform automatic vascular screening in approximately one minute, take measurements from multiple regions simultaneously, and provide standardized results simplifies early diagnosis, patient monitoring, and clinical evaluation processes.

The system supports more than 15 different vascular parameters and up to 20 test protocols, offering a comprehensive vascular profile. Measurements are non-invasive, painless, and fast, enhancing both patient comfort and clinical workflow efficiency.

Vascular Health Score

The Vascular Health Score enables AngE™ ABI+ to combine multiple parameters into a single, easy-to-understand result. With this score, the system provides a clear and standardized summary of vascular status. The goal is to support early detection and allow patients to better understand their results.

The Vascular Health Score is an optional add-on. Its use requires a SOT Cloud account, a recurring subscription, and internet access.

All-in-One Vascular Laboratory

AngE™ ABI+ integrates arterial and venous tests into a single platform with its all-in-one vascular laboratory approach. Key supported parameters include:

  • ABI – Ankle-Brachial Index
  • PWV – Pulse Wave Velocity
  • PVR – Pulse Volume Recording
  • TBI – Toe-Brachial Index
  • Systolic Toe Pressure
  • PWI™ – Pulse Wave Index
  • SBP – Segmental Pressures
  • Venous Function Test
  • HRV – Heart Rate Variability
  • Skin Temperature
  • Acral Circulation / Finger
  • AI-Assisted Vascular Health Score

This structure enables versatile vascular analysis rather than relying on a single measurement approach.

Clinical Applications

AngE™ ABI+ can be used in the evaluation of:

  • Atherosclerosis
  • PAD – Peripheral Arterial Disease
  • Limb Ischemia
  • Arterial Stiffness
  • IAD – Interarm Blood Pressure Differences
  • Diabetic Foot / Ulcer
  • Arrhythmic Heartbeat / Arrhythmia
  • TOS – Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
  • Raynaud’s Syndrome
  • CVI – Chronic Venous Insufficiency

This wide range of applications makes the device a practical solution for both screening and follow-up.

Automated Vascular Screening

AngE™ ABI+ completes automated vascular screening in approximately one minute. Compared to about 10 minutes for Doppler ABI and around 20 minutes for TcpO₂, this provides a significant time advantage.

The system is also designed to support accurate assessment in patients with hypertension or calcified arteries.

Key Advantages

AngE™ ABI+ saves time and increases clinical efficiency by completing full vascular screening in a short period.

Simultaneous cuff measurement of all vessels and collaterals provides a more comprehensive and precise assessment compared to Doppler tests focused on a single vessel, resulting in higher accuracy.

Simultaneous recording of left and right sides allows immediate comparison of timing and amplitude differences, making it easier to detect subtle variations.

The system delivers repeatable and consistent measurements, reducing human error and lowering the need for advanced operator training.

Why Clinics Prefer It

AngE™ ABI+ ensures high patient acceptance due to its non-invasive, painless, and fast measurement process, especially beneficial in preventive health screenings.

Offering multiple parameters such as ABI, PWV, PWI™, PVR, and TBI in one system helps create a comprehensive vascular profile.

The system features a pay-per-use model without requiring high initial investment, enabling return on investment from day one.

It can generate a one-page PDF report branded with the clinic’s logo, providing a practical solution for patient records and referrals.

The system can be expanded with two additional optical PPG probes, enabling measurements such as Toe-Brachial Index, systolic toe pressure, skin temperature, and venous function.

AngE Software supports DICOM and HL7 and runs natively on both macOS and Windows.

Importance of Early Detection for PAD

Early detection of PAD is critical. Globally, 1 in 8 adults is affected by PAD. Nearly half of patients may remain asymptomatic until it is too late. Among patients who undergo amputation due to PAD, only half survive beyond four years.

These statistics clearly highlight the need for early screening and timely evaluation.

Simultaneous Measurement Technology

AngE™ ABI+ utilizes TOPP (Tissue Optical Perfusion Pressure) technology, combining four measurement cuffs and two optical sensors to enable simultaneous assessment at six different measurement points.

This structure supports the detection of circulation disorders in terminal vessels and helps evaluate wound healing success in diabetic patients.

The TOPP method was developed in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Georg Horstick and the Practice for Vascular and Cardiac Medicine.

Micro and Macro Circulation Assessment

AngE™ ABI+ evaluates both microcirculation and macrocirculation, helping predict wound healing potential.

Circulation can be recorded after passive and active stress tests such as knee bends and toe tip stands.

This approach supports a more effective clarification of circulation disorders.

Applications and Test Workflows

AngE™ ABI+ offers flexible vascular evaluation through different application and test workflows.

For early detection, vascular screening may include ABI, toe measurements, and ECG.

The ABI Standard Test allows quick and simple measurement using a four-cuff ABI test.

Toe Pressure and TBI assessments determine systolic toe pressure and Toe-Brachial Index.

The Venous Function Test enables evaluation of CVI (Chronic Venous Insufficiency) and venous valve incompetence.
